David Notkin: Improving software quality using run-time data: several hot examples
- Speaker:
- David Notkin, University of Washington Computer Science & Engineering
- Abstract:
- Over the past few years, several techniques have been developed that promise to improve software quality using run-time data in novel ways. One such technique tracks program's state during execution and infers properties that likely hold over all states of the program. Another such technique samples state from executions of programs in the field, which can then be applied to various software tasks such as defect localization and configuration testing. These approaches are still relatively new, and provide a set of challenges along with their opportunities.
